Experience & Production
Culture as programme content, not background music.
Workshops, collaborations, and cultural content built to serve a programme's objective rather than fill an afternoon.
Why it matters
Most corporate programmes treat local culture as decoration. The version that works treats it as content, where delegates participate, make something, and leave with a memory attached to an action rather than a performance they watched.
There is a version of this that everyone has seen: a dance troupe performs during dessert, delegates applaud, nobody remembers it by Thursday. It is not that the performers were wrong. It is that watching creates no memory worth carrying home.
Change the frame and the same afternoon does real work. Put people behind the table rolling their own cigar, or in front of a percussionist who will not let them off the hook until the clave lands, and something happens that a slide about company values cannot achieve. The content is the same. The participation is what makes it stick.
What we manage
The work this covers.
Cultural content curation aligned to objectives
Sessions chosen for what the programme is trying to achieve rather than for novelty.
Hands-on workshops and masterclasses
Formats where delegates do the thing rather than observe it being done.
Artist, chef and maker collaborations
Working relationships with people who are practising, not performing for tourists.
Gifting and ceremony moments
Objects and moments with a story attached and a reason to keep them.
Community-contribution components
Structured so the contribution is real and the programme is not the main beneficiary.
Storytelling and internal-comms assets
Material the client can use after the programme ends.
How we approach it
The order the decisions get made in.
-
Step 1
Anchor to the objective
Cultural content earns its place by serving the programme's purpose rather than decorating it.
-
Step 2
Choose participation over performance
Delegates remember what they did far longer than what they watched.
-
Step 3
Be honest about contribution
If a community element cannot be made genuinely useful, it is left out rather than staged.
What this means in Cuba
The part a global agency cannot write for you.
- Cigar-rolling workshops, rum tasting and cocktail masterclasses, salsa and percussion sessions, and visits to working artists' studios are all available at a level of access most destinations cannot match.
- Framing matters more than the activity. The same rum tasting is forgettable as a show and memorable as a masterclass where everyone builds a drink.
- Community-contribution components are worth doing only where the contribution is materially useful, through supplies, equipment, or workshop support. Where it would amount to a photo opportunity, it is left out.
- Artist and maker collaborations are relationships rather than bookings, and are arranged with enough lead time to be genuine.
Scale
What size this works at
From an 8-person workshop to a 150-delegate parallel-station format.
