Experience & Production
Built on the island, not shipped to it.
Creative concept through technical delivery for events staged in Cuba, designed around what the island can actually produce.
Why it matters
In Cuba the production constraint drives the creative decision rather than trailing it. Knowing that constraint before the concept is drawn is the actual expertise, and it usually produces a better event than an imported build would have.
The first technical question on a Cuban event is rarely about the look. It is about power, and then about what has to come through customs. Answer those two early and the creative space opens up considerably, because the concept is being drawn against a real set of capabilities rather than an optimistic one.
That constraint tends to push the design toward what the island does better than anywhere else: rooms with three hundred years of texture already in them, musicians who do not need a brief, food cooked by people who live ten minutes away. An imported build would have cost more and said less.
What we manage
The work this covers.
Creative concept and event narrative
A through-line the evening is built on, rather than a theme applied to it afterwards.
Stage, sound, lighting and power planning
Technical design that starts from what the venue can genuinely supply.
Set, decor and brand dressing
Produced locally wherever it can be, which is more often than most clients expect.
Live performance curation
Musicians, dancers, and artists booked and directed as part of the programme rather than added to it.
Food and beverage design with local kitchens
Menus built with the chefs who will actually cook them.
Rehearsal, show-calling and run-of-show
The event run as a show, with someone calling it.
How we approach it
The order the decisions get made in.
-
Step 1
Establish the equipment line first
What exists on the island versus what must be imported is the single decision that shapes budget and schedule.
-
Step 2
Design to the venue's real capability
Power, rigging, and access are inputs to the concept rather than obstacles discovered later.
-
Step 3
Rehearse the transitions
Most event failures happen between segments rather than during them.
What this means in Cuba
The part a global agency cannot write for you.
- The dividing line between equipment available on the island and equipment that must be imported sets both budget and lead time. It is established at concept stage rather than during build.
- Generator planning is not optional for historic venues. It is designed in from the start and budgeted openly.
- The live music depth here is genuinely rare, from son and timba to danzon, full percussion ensembles, and dancers. Programming it well is a creative decision rather than a booking task.
- Decor produced with local makers is usually cheaper than an imported build and reads as more authentic in the room.
